Vestibular Rehabilitation
Restoring balance and reducing dizziness — targeted treatment programs to address the root cause of your symptoms.
About the service
What is vestibular rehabilitation?
The vestibular system — located in the inner ear — plays a crucial role in balance, spatial orientation and gaze stability. When it is not working properly, the effects can be debilitating: dizziness, vertigo, nausea, and a persistent sense of unsteadiness that affects every part of daily life.
Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialised form of physiotherapy that uses specific exercises and manoeuvres to retrain the brain to compensate for vestibular dysfunction. Treatment is tailored to your specific diagnosis and may include repositioning manoeuvres (such as the Epley manoeuvre for BPPV), gaze stabilisation exercises, balance training and graded exposure to movement.
Please contact our team to discuss their experience with your specific concern or condition. We are happy to talk through whether our services are the right fit for you before you book.

Your treatment journey
What to expect from vestibular rehabilitation
Your first appointment will involve a thorough assessment to identify the cause of your symptoms. From there, treatment is tailored to your diagnosis and goals.
Comprehensive assessment
We take a detailed history of your symptoms, triggers, and how dizziness is affecting your daily life. We then carry out a physical assessment including eye movement testing, positional testing, and balance evaluation.
Diagnosis and explanation
We explain what is causing your symptoms in plain language, so you understand what is happening and what to expect from treatment. Many people find this alone is reassuring.
Targeted treatment
Treatment may include repositioning manoeuvres, gaze stabilisation exercises, balance training, or a home exercise program — depending on your diagnosis and how you respond.
Graded return to activity
We support you to gradually return to the activities that dizziness has been limiting — whether that is driving, sport, work, or simply feeling safe at home.
Most people with BPPV see significant improvement within one to three sessions. Other vestibular conditions may take longer, but most people experience meaningful improvement with a structured program.
